This week there has been lots of football taking place! Years 5/6 boys and girls have been giving it their all in tournaments. Unfortunately we didn't get any medals, however the effort and sportsmanship from all of the pupils was excellent, well done guys. Maybe next time!
Year 5 went on a team building sports trip to watch some world class swimming. The Airweave Swimming World Cup was held at the Hamad Aquatic Centre. All pupils were a great representation of our school and enjoyed the day thoroughly!
Year 6 Gymnastics
Year 6 (and year 5) have all been doing Gymnastics since the start of the term. They have all come on heaps and bounds and are demonstrating some fantastic rolls, leaps, types of travel and balances all with real quality!
In PE this week year 4 have been developing their throwing and catching skills. We have worked on our overarm throws and fielding the ball off the floor. The pupils have all developed well and are able to field the ball and hit a target!
This week's PE Star of the Week. Sunni is in the Year 6 Wildcats class and is currently covering a Gymnastics topic. She preformed a fantastic travel sequence which included a superb cartwheel! Top Work!
All pupils have done really well in PE this week. We have had lots of fun with loads of different movements, ball and team games. The pupils have all settled well into the school and to our new member of staff (as well as Mr Johnston!). We would like to introduce you to the PE department at Al Wakra; Mr Johnston (Head of PE) and Mr Shovelton.
